Fearless Leader & Owner

  1. I take 3 showers a day
  2. When I don’t know a word in English I make up my own
  3. I leave every kitchen cabinet open when I cook
  4. When I go to my step class, the step has to line up with the line of wood floor
  5. Before I go to bed, I have to wash my feet
  6. I craved lemons when I was pregnant 
  7. My kids are 10 months apart
  8. I sleep with a sea of pillows
  9. I check my car three times to make sure it is locked 
  10. All my food has to have a crunch factor
  11. My co-workers describe me as: bighearted and unselfish, inspiring, resilient, driven, dynamic
  12. Marta has been selected by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce “Small Business Leader of the Year” and she has also been nominated 2 years in a row for the Woman UP “Woman Entrepreneur: Best In Business” award.

  1. I have a tri-pod rescue cat named Toothless
  2. I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship
  3. I was the kicker for my high school’s varsity football team
  4. I have a LEGO obsession
  5. I’ve been to over 35 U.S states and 26 countries
  6. Life motto: “today is today, tomorrow is tomorrow”
  7. I started my first business with my brother at 16
  8. I can recite my 9’s times tables in record speed
  9. The one dance move I can do is the worm
  10. I am a certified scuba diver with a whale shark specialty
  11. My co-workers describe me as: exuberant and soulful

  1. I was an Art Teacher for two years before becoming an event manager.
  2. I have two dogs, Boone and Violet, who know over 20 tricks (but I’m secretly a cat person).
  3. Dancing was my favorite pastime growing up; I took classes for 13 years!
  4. Western Carolina University is my Alma Mater, and I will be a life-long Catamount fan.
  5. I love thunderstorms and prefer cool, rainy weather.
  6. Reading and cooking are my favorite hobbies.
  7. I listen to Podcasts more than I listen to music, especially True Crime Podcasts.
  8. My favorite food is chocolate chip cookies with salt sprinkled over the top.
  9. I relieve stress by playing video games.
  10. I spun flags in my highschool and college’s marching band.

  1. When gay marriage was legalized in NYC I married my husband and we’ve been together for 14 years and still madly in love.
  2. I’m a documentary and portrait photographer who has exhibited in galleries in NYC
  3. I’m co-founder of an accessories company called Jak and Fox, named after our rescue dogs.
  4. I’m a first generation American of Ukrainian and West African immigrants.
  5. I used to live in London touring the country during my modeling career 
  6. I enjoy drinking Manhattan’s, listening to Jazz with a few of my friends.
  7. My favorite musician is Gary Clark Jr.
  8. Currently working on a documentary portrait project about the racial diversity of Asheville
  9. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY
  10. Went on a 6 month road trip and visited 40 states.
