A rehearsal dinner venue upstairs from the wedding
The Second Level of The Venue, in downtown Asheville, seats 120 at long tables under the timber roof, with its own entrance and an open-air balcony over the street. Rehearsal dinner the night before, wedding downstairs the next day, one address on the invitation.
How it goes
Family style, then the balcony
One long table or several, set by us with the linens, china and glassware already in the building. Your caterer brings the dinner and serves it family style; the bar is ours. Afterwards the balcony takes the toasts and the air, and the room below is being set for tomorrow without anyone in this one noticing.
It also works as a welcome party for the whole guest list, standing, up to 175. It has its own entrance, opens onto the balcony and is accessible by stairlift. Guests walk back to downtown hotels, two of them a block away.

- How many can a rehearsal dinner seat?
- The Second Level seats 120 at tables, or holds 175 for a standing welcome party. For more than that the Market & Mezzanine level seats 250.
- Can we book it the night before our wedding downstairs?
- Yes, and that is the usual shape of it: the rehearsal dinner upstairs on the Second Level, the wedding on Market & Mezzanine the next day, and nobody moves a car in between.
- Who does the food?
- Your caterer, or one from our preferred list. There is no kitchen in the building, so a family style dinner is brought in and served at the table. The bar and beverage service is ours.
- What does a rehearsal dinner cost?
- It is quoted on the date and the headcount, with the tables, chairs, linens, glassware and staffing included the way they are for every rental. Tell us the night and how many, and you will have a number.
