The fourteen questions that decide whether The Venue, a wedding and event venue in downtown Asheville, works for your day.
- What is your capacity?
- Market & Mezzanine holds 250 fully seated, or 350 cocktail style. The Second Level holds 120 fully seated, or 175 cocktail style. The two levels book separately or together.
- Who caters?
- Hire a caterer of your choice, or choose from our list of preferred caterers. The Venue does not provide in-house catering and there is no kitchen in the building.
- Can we bring our own alcohol?
- No. The Venue provides all bar and beverage service, and no outside beverages are allowed. We are fully insured and hold all required ABC permits.
- What does The Venue provide?
- Tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, flatware, staffing, decor, bar and beverages, specialty lighting, staging and A/V.
- Do you require a wedding planner?
- Yes. A professional, licensed and insured planner or coordinator is required for every wedding ceremony and reception. Your event manager can recommend one.
- Is the building accessible?
- Market & Mezzanine is accessible by wheelchair elevator. The Second Level is accessible by stairlift.
- Where do guests park?
- There is no private lot. Metered spaces, small lots and garages, and several hotels with public parking are all within walking distance. Your event manager keeps a list.
- Are dogs welcome?
- Yes, at the ceremony and any part of the day where food is not being served.
- Can we tour the building?
- Yes, by appointment. We cannot tour during most events because the team is running that night, but tours do happen before an event starts.
- Is there outdoor space?
- The Second Level opens onto an open-air balcony over the downtown streetscape, which is where ceremonies and cocktail hours take the air. There is no lawn or garden; The Venue is a downtown building, not an outdoor venue.
- Is there lodging on site?
- No. Downtown hotels are within walking distance, two of them a block away, and your event manager can help with a room block.
- How far is the airport?
- Asheville Regional Airport is about 15 miles south, 20 to 25 minutes by car on I-26.
- Can we hold the rehearsal dinner here too?
- Yes. The Second Level seats 120 for a family style dinner and can be booked the night before a wedding downstairs, so the weekend stays in one building.
- What does a wedding cost?
- Wedding rentals start at $6,200 for 50 guests in January to March and run to $13,000 for 200 guests in the autumn, with the room, the equipment, the staffing and the bar deposit included. The pricing page has the full table.
